L’Agence pour la Promotion de l’Entrepreneuriat Communautaire (APEC) a réussi à mobiliser près de 17 billion CFA francs in only one year, intended to support projects endogenous, has announced its Director-general, Karim Traoré.

Le programme d’entrepreneuriat communautaire par actionnariat populaire, lancé par le Président du Burkina Faso, le Captain Ibrahim Traoréon June 12 , 2023, has reached this amount at 1 July 2024, according to Mr. Traoré. This initiative aims to promote the crowdfunding of local projects by the Burkina faso themselves.

Projets d’envergure en cours

L’APEC a déjà investi dans plusieurs community projectsincluding a processing plant for tomatoes Bobo-Dioulassoin the process of being finalised. Mr. Traoré said that this plant is carried out to 93%, avec les bâtiments achevés et les équipements en phase de montage, ce qui devrait être terminé dans environ un mois. Le recrutement d’une cinquantaine d’employés pour l’usine sera bientôt lancé.

L’APEC participe également à hauteur de 40% of the capital another processing plant tomatoes, Faso Tomato, located at Yako, the production of which will commence in July 2024.

Future prospects and investments

Karim Traoré a exprimé son espoir que la pose de la première pierre d’une usine semi-mécanisée de production d’or, prévue le 4 July in Gaoua, dans la région du Sud-Ouest, encouragera davantage de Burkinabè à adhérer à l’entrepreneuriat communautaire par actionnariat populaire. Ce modèle permettra aux populations locales de financer leurs propres projects endogenous, generating wealth that is shared throughout the country.
